Early Wireless!
In 1932, the magazine, ‘Practical Wireless’ published an article about installing indoor aerials.
Some amazing (and dangerous!) designs were given.
Here are five of the designs.
Fix a metal plate behind
the mantle piece
Really bizarre is this aerial. Connect a wire to the upstairs bed, wire sprung mattress!
If you toss and turn in bed the wireless will crackle!
Wind a frame aerial behind your Rembrandt.
Stand by for the explosion here!
Just connect your mains wireless to the gas main!!
(Notice the old fashioned gas mantle for lighting in those days.)
Based on the Ducon design. This aerial utilises the mains wiring.
