This is a late 1920’s mains receiver made by the London firm
Of Gambrell Radio. It was designed to be used on DC mains.
Many houses only had DC mains in the early days of radio,
AC mains slowly taking its place as it was more versatile.
Unusually this receiver has a painted cabinet rather than the
more familiar polished one.
This item also comes complete with some woodworm!
