Went to Derby for a few hours and set myself the task of seeing how many humorous or interesting photographs I could take whilst there. This gallery is the result. Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed searching for them. “A yard long” was a sign in a lane, the sign being about a yard long! “First Floor Flat” found on turning a corner and thought that title appropriate!
The property management premises had been completely covered in old posters over the years.
My favourite though is, “Various Species,” I was very lucky to find that pub with that name covered in colourful advertising posters. Maybe photographers need a blend of luck and observation in equal measure?
Isn’t it incredible what trouble our ancestors went to in their buildings? “Brick Work” is a fine example of all the planning and work by brick layers that went into the building’s name. Do hope that this building is listed and
is never demolished and the work lost.
